About the Monroe County Family Support Center

The Monroe County Family Support Center is a community-driven organization dedicated to providing essential services and support to families in need throughout Monroe County. We have two office locations, one in Union at 130 North St. Union WV 24983 and in Peterstown at 109A Market St. Peterstown WV 24963. Our mission is to foster a healthy, thriving community by offering a range of vital resources that promote well-being, self-sufficiency, and empowerment.

At the Family Support Center, we understand that families face challenges, and we are here to help ease the burden by offering a variety of programs designed to meet basic needs and support family life.

Our Services:

  • Food Pantry: We offer a monthly food pantry in Union to ensure families can access nutritious food and essential supplies for healthy living. When using our food pantry, we ask that you please call the Union office at 304-772-4987 to schedule an appointment. Our food pantry is the 3rd Thursday of every month starting at 9:30 A.M. If it is your first time at the food pantry, you must bring proof of income and a valid ID.

  • Cleaning & Hygiene Pantry: Both of our offices offer a cleaning and hygiene pantry every month. The cleaning & hygiene pantry provides a monthly cleaning and hygiene pantry, giving families access to essential supplies that support healthy living

  • Clothing Pantry: Both of our offices—located in Union and Peterstown—operate a clothing pantry, where we accept donations and offer gently used and in-season clothing for families in need.

  • Baby Pantry: Our Union office hosts a dedicated baby pantry, providing parents and caregivers with diapers, baby food, formula, and other infant necessities.

  • Utility Assistance: We assist families struggling with utility bills, helping to keep lights on and homes warm during difficult times. This service is only valid once every 12 months. Utility assistance includes water, electricity, heat, and rent bills.

  • Bi-weekly Meal Kits: In addition to our monthly food pantry, we offer biweekly meal kits to families to ensure they have fresh, nutritious meals throughout the week.

  • Playgroups for Children: We offer playgroups for children to help foster early childhood development and provide a safe, fun space for kids to connect with others.

At the Monroe County Family Support Center, we believe in the power of community and are committed to walking alongside families as they work toward stability and success. Whether it's providing food, clothing, baby supplies, or financial assistance, we are here to help families thrive, one step at a time.
